Everything you need to know
The highly anticipated 2024 tournament will run from Monday 5 August to Saturday 10 August. With over 50 events, it is a jam packed schedule of tennis. Subject to the weather, play starts on the grass at 9:45am and continues until sunset. Weather dependent, all events are played on the grass except the U12, U10, U9 events which are held on the astro turf or the U8s which is played indoors. The Finals of the Open events will be played on Saturday 10 August. The Suffolk Closed Finals will be played on Thursday 8 August.
Here’s some useful information:
Ample parking is provided at the school; a short walk from the tennis – please follow the signs. Should you need disabled access, there are some designated bays in the Sports Hall car park.
Players need to arrive 15 minutes before their call time.
Please note that players must wear a predominantly white top. Coloured skirts or shorts and shoes are acceptable. No loud logos.
Top Spin Tennis will have a pop up shop during the week stocking a variety of shoes, clothing, rackets and accessories. They will also be offering a re-stringing service.
There will be a fully stocked cafe in the Fowler Pavilion serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and a variety of breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea options.
Throughout the week there will be a programme of entertainment on offer for families to enjoy.
Spectators are of course welcome and encouraged.
Swimming is available 12.00pm to 2.00pm Monday to Friday. (Young children must be accompanied by an Adult).
Tuesday 6 August Charity evening tennis event in support of Marie Curie. Please register at the Control desk by 5pm. Play starts around 6pm. All Welcome and there is a Pulled Pork BBQ from 4.30pm.
Thursday 8 August Sponsors day and Suffolk County Finals. (Ladies Final 1.15pm & Men’s Final approx 2.45pm.)
Thursday 8 August 80+ Tennis event (to play, your combined ages need to be 80+) Please register at the Control desk by 5pm. Play from 5.45pm Approx. All Welcome.
Thursday 8 August Evening Barbecue from 4.30pm All Welcome.
Saturday 10 August – Open Finals. Come and watch some potential Wimbledon stars? 1pm Ladies Open Final & Approx. 2.30pm Men’s Open Finals.
